I am a qualified architect with project design and delivery experience in complex commercial buildings.

I have worked in a range of sectors and scales including Offices (speculative and Head Offices), residential, airports, warehousing, retail, airports, and mixed-use developments.

I enjoy the process of design, and the collaborative nature of architectural design, with a focus on creating value assets for my clients.

Architect

I have been a practicing Architect for the last 22 years. I worked at LYT architecture for 20 of those years and helped grow the company to 100+ employees. I now working at Henriksen Studios, a specialist design service focussing on sustainable design (whole life carbon design) through synthesis of facade design and PassivHaus principles. I have experience in tall buildings, fat/flat buildings, small buildings and complex buildings. The business of architecture is challenging yet exciting. Building a brand, a company culture and a company that prides itself on excellence is incredibly rewarding.

Designer

Architecture offers me the opportunity to adopt the concept of Renaissance thinking. I am interested in all aspects of design, and everything that adds depth, significance to considered design. Architecture and design have become more complex with considerations far beyond form, proportion, space and scale. There are overarching considerations of Carbon footprints, wellness, sustainability and circularity. It is an exciting time for architects who are now able to draw on all these new imperatives, to produce architecture that is relevant.

Carbon Conscious

Building construction and operational emissions account for 38% of total global energy-related CO2 emissions. This huge number becomes more concerning if one is to include embodied Carbon. It is the responsibility of every participant in the construction sector to play their part.

Family and the UK

I am a husband to my wife Bonnie, and father to two children; Sophie (aged 14) and (Christian aged 12). They have joined me on this journey to the UK. I feel the UK is built on mature, developed, scrutinized and sound economic, intellectual and creative principles. All of which will form a sound basis of my children’s future.
